Birthday Penguin

Happy Saturday everyone! It's snowing/sleeting/raining at my house - so it has been a great time to snuggle up in my craft room and create! I needed to make a birthday card for my little brother, who turns 26 in a couple of weeks (not so little, huh?). He's a fan of no frills and boy colors, so his cards are always a challenge for me.

Here is what I came up with! I kept the color scheme simple and masculine (yet still managed to sneak 2 different Basic Grey papers on there). I used my Cuttlebug to emboss two pieces of cardstock to mimic the circles on Birthday Penguin's party hat. He was colored with a combination of Copic markers; the ice cube was watercolored using an aquapainter and ink. The melting ice has Stickles painted on it for some shimmer, and the block is covered in Ranger Glossy Effects for some shine.

Stop by my blog for more details and a close up shot of the ice block!

STORE NEWS: Did you know that *new* digi images have been added? Be sure to check them out on Heidi's blog! Also, the Etsy shop has stamps available in digi, cling mount, and wood mount, so check those out too!

EXCITING GIVEAWAYS: Starting tomorrow, look for details on how you can win something fun from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps -- everything you need to know Sammye will tell you!

Recipe:
  • Cardstock/Paper: Kraft, Buckaroo Blue, Prismatics White, Basic Grey dp (Periphery, Mellow)
  • Stamps: Birthday Penguin
  • Ink: printer, Buckaroo Blue, Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Frayed Burlap
  • Tools & Accessories: ribbon, brads, Ranger Glossy Effects, Shimmerz Angel Wings, aquapainter, sponge
Have a wonderful weekend :)

To the Moon and Back!

I had so much fun making this rocket ship card! I typically get into a creative rut or block when I need to make a "boy" card, but this came to me quite easy and naturally! I love the simple design of the stamp and how you can use it in so many ways. I made this one for my 6 year old, Mac, for Valentine's Day. The inside message reads: "To the Moon and Back!"

Supplies: Stamps:Rocket: Up, up and Away!, Sentiment: Papertrey Ink; Cardstock: Neenah; Other: Chipboard Stars, Copic Markers, Brilliance Silver Ink, Small Silver Brads, Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Folder, foam tape. Card measures 5.25 inches square.
I used the bottom of my marker tin to trace a circle. I cut it out and ran it through my Cuttlebug. Once it was attached to the card, I trimmed the two edges. The chipboard stars were simply pressed into silver ink and they actually came out with a nice texture. I colored in the rocket ship and cut it out, added silver brads, then attached with foam tape. Stamped the sentiment, and ta-dah! A cute little card for a very special little boy!
Have a fantastic weekend! I hope you find creative inspiration and get to make a thing or two!
Happy Crafting,

Howdy - You Friend are a True Friend!!!!!

Happy Thursday Stampers!!!!,

Well it is Thursday which means it is my day to post to the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Blog Yea!!!! Today I decided to work with this super cute image Cowboy Kid!! You can click and Purchase him in Digi, Cling Rubber, or Wood Mounted Rubber here:

So My Card today is for a Friend who loves all things Western and I thought this adorable image would put a smile on her face!!!

The Western Patterns behind him are embossed with Glittery Red Embossing Powder and I added the ribbon to Match his Bandana. The Sentiment has a Vintage Western Feel to it so I thought that would go perfect with this sweet image!!!!

Sorry I guess when I took the picture it was dark and my Ott Light did not help enough the pictures are slightly out of focus and not near as sharp as I like for them to be!!!!

I colored him up in these Copics:
Hat: B21, B24, B29, R20, R29, R35
Skin: R00, E00, E93, RV21
Hair: E50, E53, E55
Bandana: R20, R29, R35, C5

Here is one last side view so you can see the dimension on the card and I took it with a flash so hopefully the glittery shimmer would show up in the embossing powder!!!

Well I am off to bed I am super exhausted today my Husband has been out of Town for 2 Days and my 2 year old Son is really giving me a run for my Money!!! LOL I am finding out that My super easy Daughters are nothing like my Dare Devil always into somthing son is!!!! Oh Well I gotta stay busy some how right???

I hope you enjoy my take with this adorable 2 Cute Stamps Image Cowboy Kid!!!!

Have a Very Stampendous Thursday Everyone!!!!

Thankful Owl Mini Pizza Box Tutorial

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I have decided to show you a Mini Pizza Box and make my first attempt at a tutorial. For this project I used Owl Miss You, did you know you could get this image in cling cushion, digi, and/or wood mount here? Check it out :).

On to the tutorial. You start with a 6"x11" piece of card stock. I used my Scor-Pal to score at the 1", 5", 6" and 10" on the 11" side of the paper.

I then turned the paper to the 6" side and scored at the 1" and 5".

I then cut the tabs along the 11" sides, be sure to not cut past the score line. Sample below.

Fold and glue down tabs.
Here is the Mini Pizza Box ready to be embellished.

And here is my final product. What do you think?

I wanted to put chocolates or tea light candles in my box but I didn't have either. I know, how could I not have chocolate, lol. I found these Lifesavers that fit perfectly.
Supplies:
Costco Card Stock
DCWV DP
Owl Miss You image and SU sentiment
Nestabilaties scalloped square, square, scalloped circle and circle
SU Ribbon
Want 2 Scrap Pearls
Copics and SU Close to Cocoa Ink

2 Cute Tuesday: Need a lift?

Tuesday is here again and it's my turn, Ann, to post another 2 Cute creation!

Have you been to the 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Etsy store recently? Well if you haven't, then you need to head over there because Heidi now has digital stamps and cling mounted stamps for sale! Both of these options allow for less storage space, but the same versatility (or more) as the wood mounted stamp. Of course, if you love wood mounted stamps, those are still for sale too!

For my card today, I've used the Furry Friends Dog and Cat image, which is currently available as a digital image here and wood mounted here. You can contact Heidi directly through Etsy if you would like to cling cushion version. These images are so fun to color! I just love the expression on their faces :)

Image: 2 Cute Rubber Stamps Furry Friends Dog and Cat; Medium: Prismacolor pencils; Paper: Sassafras Las; Accesories/tools: Ribbon, Cuttlebug and Nestabilities

Well, that's it for today! Come back tomorrow for another great creation from the DT!

How could you resist this face?

Cutie Jennifer here— I'll be posting card samples, tutorials and great ideas for you on Mondays! Hopefully starting you off on a wonderful new week.

Look at those cheeks, you just want to grab them and give 'em a big pinch.

What a great stamp. Perfect for those boy cards that we always need to make, but never have the right stamp. For this card I used the Cowboy Kid stamp.

Recipe-
2 Cute Cowboy Kid stamp
Pattern Paper: Cosmo Cricket (red circles, and plaid) The Robins Nest (jeans) and DCWV (cowboy and sayings)
Other: Sewing machine, Copics and pop dots

The stamp consists of the cowboy kid wearing his bandana around his neck, in an very cute cowboy hat and the 2 circles around him. (see size diagram below)

Don't forget to stop back tomorrow and see another wonderful sample from cutie Ann.

And before we go, I have another "out of this world" sample for you from our Guest Designer, Michelle.

Look at those awesome designer papers. Thanks for sharing Michelle! If you want to know more about this card, please visit Michelle's blog.
